"ART and Durex; Proving That Coming Last Is A Good Thing!"

History

The Aldridge Racing Team, or ART, is a new organisation based in Southampton, Hampshire. With funding from the Aldridge family, ART has grown from a small start-up business and decided that racing is where it wants to be. This has been made to happen by the company embarking on an ambitious bid for the existing RRR organisation E-Motoring. This bid was accepted and e-motoring shut it doors after the Renault Twingo SuperCup accordingly and allowed it's staff, driver and all equipment, including tuning, and testing apparatus to be included in the deal. This gave ART the chance to get to the first step on the RRR ladder.

The ART name, building from the original company name also leads to great comparisons within racing communities to the "mobile chicane" tag that is linked to any team that resembles in anyway HRT. This seems appropriate to the performances of Mr. E in the RRRTTC and ART hopes to deliver him a more competitive car in the form of a Toyota Aygo, carrying sponsorship from Entertainment channel E4 in the new series of RRR 4zaMC.

ART works in collaboration with the Hampshire based Scorpio Design House to produce the liveries and paintjobs found on it's cars. Scorpio Designs are reportedly a completely fictional company, invented just so that the ART Chief had someone else to blame when people mocked the cars his team raced in.

Rumours were rife, as of 29th October 2011, that Hampshire based ART have already prepared their Chevrolet Volt for December 2011s Zer0EEE Special Event. In the UK it was reported in the Southern Daily Echo that the team was spotted at Dunsfold testing a Volt in a Red and Green Livery. Amateur Photographer and keen ornithologist Robin Chatterbird took this photo as he spotted the car doing laps in near silence.

The third season of RRR didn't go quite according to plan for Mr E 004 as he failed to arrive for the first event in Europe. This was most disappointing as he was very prepared and had actually bothered to set up the car for the event. He had plenty of time on his hands as a real world injury had prevented him from doing anything more than sit on the sofa playing Forza.

Overall the team and the driver were adamantly nonplussed over there results of Season 3. a host of 11th placed finishes left them with a lower than desired points total and a poor finish in the championship. On the upside however, reverse grids allowed Mr E 004 to collect not one, not two, but three laps in the race lead before finishing the same race a lowly and distant 14th.

Merry Chrashmas (And A Smashy New Year)

An event which almost seemed tailor made for Mr. E, where crashing into opponents did not matter in the slightest, in fact, was potentially encouraged. Also ended in a last place finish for him. The events of the night of Merry Crashmas, also provided two other less than wanted records to the young driver. He now has the record for the shortest ever competed race time, where he started alongside Ajokay on the grid and the Ajokay Motorsport driver felt threatened enough to make sure Mr. E was removed from the competition before he even crossed the start line. It was later found that Ajokay had accused Mr. E of "giving him a funny look" on the grid, which made his mind up that Mr E had to be wrecked. <(completely unfounded). Mr. E also collected the Wooden Spoon after this event as Dan Thorn collected his first race victory. The record of 35 starts and 0 wins meant the token was his and it looks as if that collection is set to continue growing throughout Mr. E's racing career.

ART's Destruction Derby Monster

0eee

In December 2011's second special event ART and Mr E entered into the lowest class for the 0eee. Mr E 004 took victory in the hybrid class with his Chevrolet Volt. This did not turn out to be a quality race for him with some still doubting his true potential as he made some mistakes whilst hoping to gain a ridiculous advantage over Slevmeister while out of phase on pit stops. However this win relieved some of the pressure and proved the possible that MR E 004 might just be a Breath of Fresh Air.

MEMES

With Season 5 confirmed ART confirmed there attendance early and will be racing with their driver Mr. E 004. The car and the livery are, as yet, unconfirmed, although the team have stated that much like the related f1 HRT, ART will be releasing a new and seasonally adapted logo before heading forward into the new season. This can now be seen at the top of the page, in a similar style to the related HRT logo. This had lead to rumours that sponsors may be as lean on the ground for ART as they have been seen to be for HRT, although regular sponsor Exxon is already known to be on the car along with the series sponsors Goodyear; Kodak and what the team feel is a logo that could be very damaging to their long term deal with Exxon, from Texaco. MEMEs has been heralded as an unprecedented disaster for Mr E and ART, zero points and no finishes above 17th has left morale within the organisation low and hope for Mr. E dwindling. There is talk of new equipment coming for the future and everybody at ART is hoping this will bring improvement to his performance.

The Inaugural Cruddy 125 (Lights)

ART entered The Cruddy with the hope of a good performance, but failure to Pre-Qualify left Mr E in the "Lights" class. Good performance in the Lights race meant Mr. E finished 2nd in class behind I am Jamm, which was 12th overall, a surprisingly strong finish for ART.

Bon Anniversaire

ART will be teaming up with the Firecruiser Racing Team crew for a one off collaboration in Mercedes SLS cars in the GT category. The collaboration will run the historic Le Mans track under the guise of FART. For the time being, there have only been murmurings of the car liveries, however they hope to launch the cars in the very near future.

OSCAR

Season 6's confirmation and Mr. E's undoubted attendance for ART brought speculation of whether the team has the funds available to afford the selection of cars and whether the amount of travelling that would be involved for the 24 tracks of Season 6 was going to be a possibility. This brought about a sudden Press Conference from Mr. E where an announcement was made about a new sponsorship deal for ART. This was a new partnership with DUREX, this brought about the new slogan of "ART and Durex; Proving That Coming Last Is A Good Thing!"

The New Sponsorship and slogan gained a few laughs during OSCAR and didn't always come out as the truth
