The RlyR Touring Car Championship Season 2 (RlyRTCC2) is Really Rubbish Racing's second season of racing on PC using Race 07. For the first time the club will genuinely revisit a past idea, following on from the second season of official competition, the Really Rubbish Racing Touring Car Championship back in August and September 2011.

That's right. Didn't see that coming, did you? The club's difficult second season, the RRRTCC, has returned for a second bite of the Chardonnay grape used to make podium Champagne, even though grapes are rather small and barely require chewing, let alone biting. We didn't even bother giving the series a new name. For the first time, Really Rubbish Racing will host a second season of a tried, tested, and tired idea. Well, ok, it's got a slightly different name. It's the RlyRTCC now, as we've moved on from that old 'RRR' thing. Oh, it's got a new logo too. An ever-so-slightly updated version of the old one. So there's that.

Format

The season will consist of 7 events. Each event will consist of a half hour practice session, a SuperPole qualifying shootout, and 2 25 minute races. The grid for race 1 will be decided by the SuperPole qualifying times, the grid for race 2 will see the top 8 finishes from race 1 start in reverse order, followed by 9th place downwards starting in the order they finished race 1. There will be no mandatory pit stops.

Car Specifications

A total of 10 manufacturers (3 more than last time) heard about our plan to revive the RlyRTCC for a second season, and figuratively sent their heads of motorsport to Really Rubbish Racing HQ to pick up a pen and sign contracts to show their intent.

Calendar & Results

The calendar has seen quite a shake-up since the RRRTCC too. Imola replaces Mugello for the Italian round, becoming the season opener, and the British round moves from Silverstone to Brands Hatch's Indy circuit. The series' official oil and lubricants partner - Norwegian energy company Statoil - demanded there be a Scandinavian round, and so in line with their apparent concern for all things environment, Sweden's Gothenburg City "Eco" Arena was chosen. In a vain attempt to introduce the American market to touring cars (again), we'll be visiting the excellent Mid Ohio circuit, which is in mid Ohio, and because a lot of pre-season testing has taken place there unbeknownst to anyone, Istanbul Park has been chosen for the venue of the 5th event. Of course... no global touring car championship would be complete without a visit to the batshit insane ribbon of tarmac on a Sino-Portuguese cliff that is Macau's Guia circuit. The season climaxes as Belgium's second-most famous circuit, Zolder, as chosen by the entrants.
