Number One Number Two - this driver won the Tune, Upgrade, Race, Design special event

Tune/Upgrade/Race/Design, or TURD for short, is the fourteenth Really Rubbish Racing Special Event and the first to be run under the new 'Token' system, where a member gets to create their own special event once they've started 150 races. This is the event of Dan Thorn.

The Premise

I – and most people – didn’t race in Season One. For those who don’t know, certain races in Season One involved racing any car you wanted upgraded to a certain PI level. No restrictions. Do what you like. That’s the angle I’ve gone for with TURD.

This special event will consist of four races on four different tracks and each race will have a different PI limit, ranging from C-class to S-class. For the four races, you must use the exact same car, upgraded to or near the PI limit for that race. The winner will be the person who accrues the most point over the four events, which will last roughly an hour and a half.

The idea is that it will be difficult for one or two people to dominate the event. A competitive C-class car might not perform as well when upgraded to S-class. Conversely, A really good S-class car might struggle in the lower classes because there’s no room for performance enhancing upgrades. You might have a car that’s fantastic in a straight line or one that is excellent through the bends. You might try a compromise to try and win the whole things.

It’s entirely up to you what you choose. Want to revisit a faithful friend from seasons past? Race that. Want to use your favourite car? Use that. Want to choose something hilarious and just have a laugh? Do that - I especially encourage you to do that.

Regulations

Each driver has until 11:59pm on Sunday 17th March to submit their car choice, which they must keep completely secret. The car they select must be able to run at C 418 at a minimum at at S 670 at a maximum (though the maximum limit is only a guideline). The other two class levels will be revealed after the car selection process has been completed.

The tracks will be announced the weekend before the event. The circuits I have chose are varied - read into that what you will! The event will last roughly an hour and a half.

Liveries are completely up to each individual person. The only regulation is that their racing number must feature somewhere on each side of their car and on the bonnet.

Banned Cars

Due to the nature of some cars being plain faster than others, some of the most prominent leaderboard cars have been banned. A list of them can be found on the forum here.
